Bridging the Gap
Well Hello, It's Me Elizabeth.
Today has been day five in my great new city, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. And after recently finding out the Pittsburgh has the highest number of bridges of any city in the world, me and two friends wanted to go exploring. We found out about Pittsburgh's eco-friendly tours, which consist of biking around the city, across six bridges total.
Seemingly easy at first, the tour was definitely a great work out! But the sites were great and I really enjoyed biking across the great bridges, and literally biking across history.
The first bridge in our tour was the "Hot Metal Bridge", one of my favorites of the day.
The first photo is of Sarah, my friend. And the second is of two others that had joined our tour.
This picture is from the Sixteenth Street Bridge, the bridge itself has massive columbs with really interesting sculptures atop it.
The sculptures are horses, with a globe like thing between them. You can see that they are rusted and have surely seen better days!
Now after biking around all day we were hot, sweaty, and out of energy! The bridge's spans aren't exactly short! So we took drives across the bridges instead! Top down, ofcourse. To ensure the best photos.
I'm told that one day soon I've got to go at night and take photos. "The city just lights up!" they said. So I'm definitely excited to see it.
Until then, stay adventurous.
Sincerely, Elizabeth.
